Misawa Airport Misawa Sky Day Festival 2025 is coming up!

The “Misawa Sky Day Festival” will be held at Misawa Airport on Saturday, September 27th, and Sunday, September 28th, 2025!
Misawa Airport is easily accessible from the city center and is a very rare airport in Japan, as it is jointly used by the U.S. Forces Japan, Japan Air Self Defense Force, and commercial airlines.
We planned this event for people with few opportunities to fly, and people from neighboring communities would become familiar with Misawa Airport and learn more about it.
Family fun! We are waiting for you with many events in which you can eat, play, and learn.

◆”Airport Security: People and Work” Event (held on Saturday, 27th only)

Time / 12:00~14:30 (Registration will begin at 11:00~)
Place / Misawa Airport Terminal
You can see facilities that are usually off-limits, as well as “Ground handling,” and you can also experience baggage inspection using the “metal detectors” and “X-ray monitors” that are actually used at airports!

*Limited to 15 pairs (1 elementary/junior high school child + 1 parent/guardian). Advance application is required.

◆“MISAWA, the City of the Sky” history lecture by local historian Mr. Tadashi Kawamura(Held only on Saturday, 27th)

Time / 13:30~15:00 (Registration will begin at 13:00~)
Place / Misawa Airport Office 1F conference room
This exhibition introduces the trajectory of Misawa’s predecessors, from Miss Beadle, which made “the Transpacific Flight” in the early Showa period, to the construction of the U.S. military base after WWII to the new urban development of today.

*Limited to 30 people; advance application is required.Applications will be closed to reach the maximum number.

「空港を守る・ひと・しごと」体験会につきまして、

当日の航空機運行の都合等により、当初予定していた時間帯での実施が安全管理上困難となりました。

つきましては、より安全かつ確実な運営のため、下記のとおり開催時間を変更させていただきます。

このような変更となりましたこと、お詫び申し上げます。

空港という特殊な環境下での開催となるため、安全を最優先とする運営上の判断であることをご理解いただけますと幸いです。

なお、既にお申し込みいただいたお客様につきましては、実行委員会より順次時間変更に関するお知らせメールを送付させていただきます。

また、現時点で既に15組を超える多数のご応募をいただいており、

今後9月上旬を目処に厳正なる抽選を行い、結果をメールにて通知させていただく予定です。
